Japanese Army
Though they often found themselves under-equipped and outmatched when directly compared to the enemy, the Japanese forces would use their knowledge of the terrain and surroundings to try to gain the upper hand - laying traps and ambushes, and using the harsh environment to their advantage.
They fought from the earliest stages of the war - clashing with the Chinese over Manchuria - right through to the very end of the war with the dropping of the first atomic bomb. Their troops quickly earned a fearsome reputation - they were so heavily indoctrinated that there wasn’t an element of doubt or thought of surrender - they would fight to the death. Death before dishonour.
